Privacy policy

The site needs no sign-up or account, and we never ask for your name or email. This page describes everything that is actually collected.

Visit statistics

We store a random identifier in your browser that does not reveal who you are, and record with each visit: the page, the referring site, your country (as determined by Cloudflare), and your device type, browser and operating system. To recognise returning visitors we keep a one-way hash (SHA-256 with a secret key) of your IP address and browser type, not the address itself. We use this only for aggregate statistics and never sell or share it.

Approximate location

To open the map on your city, your browser asks the GeoJS service (get.geojs.io) for the approximate city of your IP address; the result is stored only in your browser. If you press “My location”, your browser asks your permission for precise location. Those coordinates (like any point you tap on the map) are used only to fetch the forecast for that spot and are not linked to your visit identifier.

Preferences

Your choices (layer, units, dark mode, model) are kept in your browser’s local storage and are not sent to us.

Problem reports

If you send a report with the “Report a problem” button, we keep your description, the page link and any attachment, only to fix the problem.

Google ads

The site may show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com); learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Service providers

The site is served through Cloudflare for security and speed, which processes requests under its own policy. Some base imagery (such as aerial photos) is loaded by your browser directly from its providers, which see your IP address like any website you visit. Weather data is processed on our own servers, and its sources receive no data about you.

Deleting your data

Clear this site’s data in your browser to remove the identifier and preferences. For any request about your data, email [email protected]
